Deftly Privacy Policy
Deftly is an exam-preparation app for professional certifications (currently PMP and AIGP). This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and the choices you have. The short version: Deftly works fully offline with no account, collects nothing for advertising, uses no third-party tracking, and never sells your data.
Using Deftly without an account
You can use every learning feature as a guest. In that case your progress — answers, scores, streaks, settings — is stored only on your device and never leaves it. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
If you create an account
Signing in is optional and exists to back up your progress and restore it on a new device. Depending on the sign-in method you choose, we receive:
- Email address (email sign-in, Google, or Apple),
- Phone number (phone sign-in),
- Name, if you choose to set one in your profile or share it via Apple sign-in.
When signed in, your learning progress (answers given, mastery, XP, streaks, session history and in-app usage events) is synced to our backend, operated on Supabase (hosted database and authentication), so it can follow your account. All transfer happens over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
Updates and offers (optional)
Inside the app you can opt in to occasional emails about new certifications, features and offers (Profile → Communications). This is off by default, uses only your account email, and switching it off stops the messages. Nothing else about your account changes either way.
Feedback
If you send feedback through the app, we store the message you wrote together with basic context (app version, platform, active certification, and your account id if you are signed in) to help us improve Deftly. It is never published.
Purchases
Deftly sells one-time purchases only — there are no subscriptions and nothing renews. Payments are processed by the app store you use (Google Play or Apple's App Store) together with RevenueCat, which records what you own. We never see or store your card or bank details. RevenueCat receives your purchase history and an app-specific user identifier so your purchases stay available across your devices.
What Deftly does not do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and no tracking across other apps or websites.
- No selling or renting of personal data — to anyone, ever.
- No access to your contacts, location, or health data.
- Notifications are scheduled on your device; there is no remote push infrastructure reading your data.
Deleting your data
- Delete your account: Profile → Delete account, inside the app. This permanently removes your account and all synced data from our servers.
- Sign out: removes your account's data from the device you sign out of; it remains in your account for your next sign-in.
- Guest data: stored only on your device — delete the app's data or uninstall it.
You can also request deletion without the app at deftly-app.pages.dev/delete-account, or email us (address below).
Data retention
Synced data is kept while your account exists and is deleted when you delete your account. Purchase records are retained by the app store and RevenueCat according to their own policies and applicable law.
Children
Deftly is a professional-certification study tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date.
